RE: Turkey Fryer

Last year we did 2 turkeys a Deep Fried and we buried one in the ground. The buried one was the absolute best, meat just fell off the bone and super juicy. The deep fried tends to be a little dry. We filled the kettle with water first got a depth line and then put in the oil. Just be careful like the others have said no frozen or wet turkeys, towel dry (we rubbed ours down with oil first) then drop in very slowly. Good luck and enjoy.
Oh and don't stuff the turkey.

RE: WHAT CAN I TOW?????

OK SO MOST OF YOU PEOPLE ARE SAYING NO? WHAT THE POINT OF HAVING 6500 MAX IF I CANT USE IT? HOW DO YOU FIGURE?
Let's get the weight of your truck first (you, and a tank of gas plus any gear you would take in the truck).
Then post the numbers and we can then crunch some numbers and find out just what you can tow. I am sure there is a TH out there you can tow safely. Find Cat Scale near you. 800 lbs is good weight use for gear, food and stuff, (not counting toy weight) for hauling in trailer.

RE: Warrior's website

So let me gather some opinions if I can. We're in the market for a new Toy Hauler (1st one) and we have always liked the WW. I found one at Giant RV Montclair / 2009 FS26 wide body - Billet. With all your collective experiences would it be wise to negotiate a good deal on the WW w/ a service contract or stay clear & choose a Hauler from a company that's still around? (for now)
Thanks in advance I wouldn't shy away, you can still get parts, just invest in a good third party warranty.

RE: Anaheim Rally April 17-19 2009

Dave, last I herd they ordered parts, a motor, fan and I don't know what else. I will find out when it is ready to pick up. Needless to say, the list of 'things to do' to the motorhome grew and nothing has been done since.
No more HOGS?!?!?!? you two barely had them long enough to discharge the batteries. What happened to Sue's? I remember she smelled something burning by the end of the weekend.
Good thing we didn't tear into it at the campout, sounds like more was needed than just an adjustment.
That was rubber from driving the wheels off of it.

RE: Anaheim Rally April 17-19 2009

We're leaving with the trailer to the Bay Area tomorrow. My older sister has her final rites to become a Dominican Nun on Saturday.(pause for shocked intake of breath or titter of disbelief!) After the ceremony, there will be a party at the local nunnery. Let the wine flow! I expect the girl to guy ratio to be in my favor. But as usual, Nicky will get all the attention.
We're staying in Novato and hope to see friends we met thru RV.NET, if we can fit into this weekend visit.
Man Vince, I didn't know you were that bad! Your sister having to become a Nun to save you. Have a good and safe trip.

RE: Where to dump & gas on 5 Fwy btwn 57Fwy and Chula Vista

FWIW,
Diesel is about $2.50 in Tijuana. Might be worth your while to travel 10 min. south to refuel.
If not, next exit south of Main is Hwy 905 that has about three Commercial Truck Diesel Fueling Stations just before the border crossing. Easy access.
It might be a 10 minute drive into TJ but 1 to 2 hrs to get back depending on the time of the day. I hear diesel is in short supply at times too.

RE: Anyone that can help move my trailer in Temecula

My tow vehicle was stolen, and we haven't replaced it yet. I was wondering if anyone in the Temecula Area would be able to help me by towing my trailer from Lake Skinner to the Temecula Mall area. I am willing to pay for gas. I have a 40' weekend warrier fifth wheel. So your truck would need to have the hitch.
Thanks,
Bill
I sent you a PM.

RE: Where to dump & gas on 5 Fwy btwn 57Fwy and Chula Vista

Chula Vista KOA off of the 5 or 805 and 54. Nice place, 2 dump stations, propane, you will go by it on the way to the races. Depending on which fwy you take to go to the races but Main street is the race exit on either 5 or 805, there are acouple of larger fueling stations on Main St.

Weekend Warrior, the good memories

Maybe we could start a thread for all the people that haven't had problems with their WWs. It might give me some peace of mind. I'm getting worried that I have a giant elephant on my back.
Let me start off it.
This is not meant to start another flame of WW, so remember what your mother said about "If you don't have anything good to say..."
I first bought mine when I got tired of having a wet buggy seat to sit in after we got to our destination.
We looked at several brands, went to RV shows and even the Sand Show to look there too, finally the DW liked WW LE models, I didn't really care except for a dry place for the buggy. Started looking for a deal on them and found Shawn Z at Giant, got a good deal but had wait for it to be built. Finally it arrived, now can't wait to go to the desert and try it out, man was that a blast, one of the best trips we have had, everything worked perfectly first time out, the dunes perfect. After desert season was over we took it to the river and it spent it's first summer at Martinez Lake in Yuma parked on our summer spot. It was one of the best summers we had at the river, it was great to come in after a long day on the water to relax and cool off in our new trailer.
I can't say it was flaw free after all it was in 100 degree temps for 5 months, a few issues came up (most I could have fixed but after all it had a warranty) so when the river season was over it went home to WW factory to be fixed. Got it in just before desert season started and got it back as good as new or maybe even better as WW found more problems than I had listed and fixed every one, got it back washed, cleaned inside and even repainted the frame.
We use it year round, in the winter it goes to the desert aleast 10 times a season and now that we decided to stop going to the river, we will camp around the local area in the summer and haul the golf cart with us. I plan on keeping this trailer for several more years and maybe take it to Oregon next summer and try the dunes in Coos Bay.
I would like to thank Mark and all his employees for a great trailer.
Good luck

RE: Fuel station pumps very slow

Don't think it's the gears, they either worked or didn't. Yes, there is a filter in line before the pump. I found that WW only used 3/8" line to feed the pump, the pump is a commercial transfer type pump. On my tank I have 2 fittings one small, one larger, the larger on will take a 1/2 hose barb, I plumbed mine with 1/2" hose to a Fram canister fuel filter, then to the pump. Pumps much faster then before the mod. I never timed it but I can fill my 10 gallon buggy tank in about 3 to 4 minutes I would guess.

RE: Warrior's assets siezed

"Thank God I ran into this before I pulled the trigger!! My folks just closed a deal on getting out of their Class C and are getting me into a 07 FK19 Used for $17500. The only thing holding the deal up is me driving the Class C parked at my house up to Las Vegas and that is supposed to happen this weekend! Thats why the dealer is selling for a great price. Should I RUN away from the deal?? Please ADVISE quick!"
Well, you say it is used so no factory warranty anyway. Might be able to wrangle a third party type of warranty from the dealer if they know you know WW is gone. Probably some of the applicance warranties are still good. Camping World offers some kind of RV protection plan too I think. So I would not run to far without looking it to it futher.

RE: Anaheim Rally April 17-19 2009

Well Mike, I can commensurate with you now, Weekend Warrior has closed their doors, due to the economic times. Looks like we can start a club for RV's without manufacture support, how about "Orphaned RVs". WW is said to be moving toward liquidation, a firm has said have been assigned to handle the asset sell off. Bummer, I don't think this is the last of it either, more will probably fall before the economy turns around.

RE: Thinking about selling

I went from a TC to a TH and I am thinking about buying a TC just for spur of the moment trips. No planning or hassles with size or parking lots, just load and go. I would keep the TH for the desert to haul the buggy out but summer would be TC time. I would say if you can keep both. I still miss my old Lance camper at times. I think the mileage would be a wash however, so I wouldn't base it on that alone.

RE: Toy hauler cleanliness question

So it sounds like as long as you clean off the toys pretty good and keep them outside, it's all good?
Thanks, Mike.
Pretty much, although down here sand and wind driven sand is the main problems for us atleast, I think up there you might have mud to contend with too. You mentioned the the screen wall, I have the split zipped type, we use it at the beach, but not so much at the dez because of the blowing sand thing. Also my gas golf cart stays in the TH when it's at home, and we haven't had a gas smells yet.
